A Film Exhibition Licence is required for anyone who wishes to exhibit films classified as NC16, M18 and R21.

Who is this for?

The Film Exhibition Licence is required for anyone who wishes to exhibit films classified as NC16, M18 and R21.

The Film Exhibition Licence (Temporary) is required for the exhibition of NC16/M18/R21 films for a period of up to 30 days.

 

Exceptions

A Film Exhibition Licence is not required for exhibition of G or PG rated films, including videotapes, VCDs and DVDs.

 

Fees

Film Exhibition Licence

1 year – $600

3 years – $1,500

A security deposit of $20,000 by cheque or a bank guarantee will have to be furnished regardless of the number of exhibition points. The deposit will be returned upon licence termination or licence expiry.

Film Exhibition Licence (Temporary)

Fee – $100

A security deposit of $10,000 by cheque or a bank guarantee will have to be furnished per exhibition point.  The deposit will be returned upon licence termination or licence expiry.

 

How to Apply

Any company or business registered with the Accounting & Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) may apply for a Film Exhibition Licence. The applicant should preferably be in a managerial or executive position and is responsible for the film exhibition business of his company/organisation.
